Has anyone ever messed up a first date (like getting too drunk), didn’t get a second date, and then years later reconnected with that same person and it went better?

I’ve been thinking about how much timing and where you are in life can affect dating.

I had a situation where I really liked someone, but the first date didn’t go well because I wasn’t in a great place and didn’t show up as my best self. Nothing came of it.

Now that a lot of time has passed and I’ve changed quite a bit, I wonder how often people get a second chance with someone under different circumstances.

Has anyone ever reconnected with someone after a bad first date and had a completely different experience?
