For people in long-term relationships/marriage what does your day-to-day connection actually look like at home?
Like outside of logistics, how often are you having real conversations, checking in, or spending intentional time together (watching shows, hanging out, etc.)? And who usually initiates it?
I’ve noticed in my relationship that I’m usually the one initiating conversation or suggesting we spend time together and if I don’t, it rarely happens. It can start to feel more like coexisting than actually connecting.
I guess what I’m trying to understand is how do you stay connected enough to feel close (emotionally and physically)? Does that connection happen naturally or does one person usually have to drive it?
Not looking to vent, just genuinely trying to understand what’s common vs. something to pay attention to.
