Hey everyone, I’ve realized I have a massive problem with first impressions.
Basically, any time a friend introduces me to someone new, I completely glitch out. I usually just give an awkward "hi" or a little wave and then just… stand there. I never know what to say next, and the silence that follows is painful.
I feel like it makes me look rude or like I don't want to be there, when really I'm just stuck in my head. It’s honestly tanking my confidence and making me want to avoid hanging out in groups entirely because I dread those first few seconds so much.
Does anyone else deal with this? How do you move past the wave without making it weird? If you have any easy "scripts" or tips to not look like a robot during introductions, please let me know.
