So this guy at work brings up the topic of music every chance he gets. It doesn't interest me. He's the one initiating the conversation with me while I'm at my work station. I feel like I've made it really clear that I don't want to talk about music, but he either doesn't get my hints or doesn't care. He's driving me up the wall. I want him to just shut up about it.
So far I have said things like,
"Yeah, I'm really not a music person." (I have told him this MANY times)
"I won't remember any of that" (after he shared facts about some band)
"I don't pay attention to what's playing half the time" (after he commented on a song that was playing)
"Yeah, I don't like going to concerts" (after he randomly told me he'd seen this band at a concert)
He still randomly shares music facts with me or tells me about how he saw this or that person in concert. I DON'T CARE. Am I not being clear enough?
What should I do next time? Just not respond at all? Change the subject? Tell him straight up "I have no interest whatsoever in that"? Or " I'm not the right person to talk to about that"?
Please don't tell me to give him a chance and that maybe I'll find it interesting if I really try. I tried already. I've tried humoring him. I've tried to find common ground. But I still find it boring. I feel like he's forcing his personal interests on me and I'm sick of it.
UPDATE: I've decided to be straightforward with him. Thank you to the people that were kind and helpful.
