I’m autistic and really struggle with social ‘rules’ and norms that may seem natural or implied to others.

Especially when it comes to texting new friends or people I don’t really know, I’m completely lost.

What I’m especially looking for is implied ‘rules’ on the length of time individual texting convos are supposed to last.

Are conversations meant to be continuous or just short bursts of convos that naturally fade off?

I know that not responding can look rude, which is what I try to avoid. But then when is the conversation supposed to end? How do you know when the conversation naturally fades, and it’s no longer ‘rude’ to not reply anymore?
