32yo straight male who’s only had one brief girlfriend his entire life which lasted all of 4 months. Since then I’ve been trying my best to live life and just let things come at me as they come like everyone else. The one thing that nothing could ever prepare you for though, is how fucking lonely society makes you feel as a single guy; especially in my age group.

I’ve followed every piece of advice like hitting the gym, seeking a therapist, socializing with friends, getting a pet and engaging in meaningful hobbies but nothing fixes the void of not having a romantic partner, especially in my age group.

Seems like everywhere you go and everything you do you can’t escape it.

You want to hang out with your friends but they bring their wives. You fill out an application form and the first thing they ask is if you’re single or married. Music on the radio is nothing but love songs. You go to work and your co-workers brag about spending time with their girlfriends after. You hit the gym and see the couples working out together. Your short form video algorithms on Insta and YouTube feed you relationship videos and dating advice. Even just going to church all you see are happy families living the life you wish you could have as well.

All I can ask is when will it be my turn?
