I 20f matched with this guy 20m (we’ll call him Mz) on hinge a couple weeks ago. We hit it off quite well and made plans to visit each other, only issue is he lives all the way across the country from me. I ended up visiting him first and I spent £60 on my train ticket to see him, and he paid for a hotel for both of us to spend the night at.
The trip there is awful, with delays and getting booted off the train unexpectedly but I make it and he picks me up and we go to the hotel. Since we both have work to get done we decide to lock in with that, but we’re also talking lots, just lost in conversation. Around 10pm he gets a call from his sister, who is freaking out because his grandma is now in hospital. He’s stressed and pissed off at the circumstances but he packed all his stuff up, promised he’d make it up to me and left, and told me he would update me as soon as he could. I’m left in this hotel room on my own in a city idk shit about thinking what tf just happened, and then I proceed to hear that he’s at the hospital and the situation is quite bad so he can’t come back to the hotel. He doesn’t answer any of my texts that night. My train back home wasn’t till 5pm the next day. I stayed at the hotel and now, at the time I’m writing this, it’s the next day. I’ve called him 4 times, and I’ve not heard anything from him at all. I’m obviously trying to keep an open mind with the situation at hand but I’m not gonna invalidate how I feel. The facts are
– I spent £60 and travelled 5 hours just to see this man
– I’m then left in this hotel room on my own in a city I don’t know
– throughout the night he’s not made an effort to call or text to check in. Like ik your first priority wouldn’t be to text the person ur seeing but I feel like there should’ve been SOME priority at least considering he’s straight up left me in this hotel
What do you think? Am I going insane? Am I in the wrong for being upset about this?
