Here in Norway we have student parliaments, which obviously are comprised of students. The parliaments at different universities can in theory influence how the university is run to a certain extent by suggesting changes to the university. Such as formally requesting longer opening hours at libraries, recording of lectures and better food in the cafeteria.
However, most students do not seem to care. At one of the leading and biggest universities (The University of Oslo) only around 10% of the student population care enough to vote. Even fewer even know it is going on or even care.
How is it in your country? Do your universities have such elections and do people care about it? If you do, what are some common campaign issues?
