I'm 33, single and sacrificed my 20's to study, earn a degree + a master's and have been working hard to pay off my student debt and have bought my own house which I'm very fortunate and thankful given the shitshow that is Australian house prices currently.

But this has made me increasingly anxious about getting into a serious relationship now. If I lost half my equity to a divorce for example, I don't think I would ever be in a position to be able to afford a house on my own again if house prices continue the way they are, and I could never see myself renting/house sharing again.

The obvious answer would be a prenup, but are people generally receptive to this or do they see it as a red flag to ask for one? Do you bring it up early in the relationship or do you wait until you're engaged? Is it normal for me to feel this way or am I being overly paranoid?
