I was recently saw a "reality show" where High Court Enforcement seizes people assets for unpaid debts. Which I can understand, but what confused me and set me off a bit was they were demanding the guy prove the car parked in front of the house he lived in did NOT belong to him and if he could not they would seize it. He couldn't or wouldn't do that so they booted it. They then said he was an insured driver on the vehicle and after a bit of drama they seized it.

Obviously it was not an educational program and entertainment was the main goal. Even after confirming the car did not have lien and was owned out right never actually said who the owner was. Which made it seem like they just took the car based on him being on the insurance.

It was similar with the contents of the house, he did not own the house and there were multiple other folks living there, but it seemed like they could just take anything from inside simply because he lived there and that was the address on the writ. It seemed crazy that they could take someone's property who had nothing to do with debt, but again it was reality tv which is not the best source of information.
