My girlfriend's favourite position is doggy style. She likes me to slam into her as hard as I am physically able. I enjoy this too, but I think it may be the cause of persistent lower back pain. I initially thought it was new bed / sharing a bed etc. but I'm increasingly convinced it's the doggy style position that is doing the damage. Has anyone else had the same experience?

  1. Never happened to me, but could be a combo of soft bed and lack of core strength/stability. Are you otherwise physically active? I’ll say this with the caution of having guidance on proper form, if you aren’t already exercising actively, but lower back and general core exercises may help – back bridges, deadlifts, planks, etc. might throw in rows/reverse rows for full back strength/stability (there’s more as well), and some more for glute/hip flexor strength etc. I had some issues with stamina that went away after doing a more regimented exercise routine.

  2. Try it over the side of the bed so you’re on solid ground instead of a soft bed that you sink in to.

  3. As they say: “If it’s hard, do it more often.”

Workouts to help this are things that will strengthen your upper legs, butt, and core: RDLs, hip thrusts, deadlifts, squats, ab roller, etc.

Next, make sure you’re keeping your hamstrings and hip flexors stretched (after workouts and before sex). Unintuitively, both attach into the lower back, so very often lower back pain is caused by tight hamstrings and hips.

Lastly, ensure you’re getting enough protein. Strength and cardio training (including boinking your girl), require protein to recover well. Higher-than-average levels of soreness can be a sign that you could use more protein. (You don’t have to go crazy, just ensure your body’s getting what it needs.)

A good workout routine is going to allow you to fuck her harder, better, faster, stronger.

  4. Two handled kettlebell swings. 10×10 every day.

You’ll have a back of steel in no time.
