So the age of consent ranges from 14-16 in most countries, which generally allows even adults to sleep with, kiss, and date teens of that age unless in a position of power, forced, manipulated, or with a noticeable imbalance. But I have two questions regarding that.
- What age is generally considered a power imbalance that the police and court would actually likely punish in your country? So, like would it be someone in their 20s with a 16 year old gets a pass in 16 countries but a 30 or older person would likely viewed as inherently exploiting and abusing and be more likely to face punishment? This is a bigger question for places where consent is 14, as that's barely out of being a child, so I'd expect there to be much more punishing any adult in general because it's younger and much fresher. So, in Austria for example.
- Are there close in age laws that apply DESPITE the age of consent in your country? As in the maximum age limits still count even when you hit the consent age, rather than it being before the age and then it no longer counts. Meaning adults can't be with you still?
So how likely would it be for an adult, someone over 19, to get in actual trouble?
Also preferably give me reliable sources like the actual website, or translate directly from the site and post here. Maybe explain exactly how it works (especially if you are someone who actually works in the law business). Tell me exactly how much of a pass they give adults.
Because its concerning to see the general "unless in one of those circumstances the adult gets a pass for being with a teen". Especially when in the modern day we know better. I posted in Asktheworld and the people accused me of being a pervert who had stuff on my hard drive even though it was very clearly AGAINST these age gaps and CRITICAL of the way the law is written
