Using your PTO.
Being a handy man
Freezer full of meat
Being debt free
Living a low-debt, low-consumption lifestyle that is full of peace and simple things.
Forklift certification
hosting LAN parties with your old friends to play video games all friday night
I have basic reading comprehension skills.
Rolling up in a nice minivan.
Good bowel movements
Being able to implicitly trust my wife. I feel like A LOT of my friends may love, but dont trust their wives. I trust mine and it certainly feels like a flex when we’re out on guys night and everyone’s getting the phone calls about where you at, what time you getting home…. But not me.. my wife trusts me and I trust her, and these days, that’s very rare
Having physical / locally stored digital media and not paying any subscription services
Having a good set of friend you meet once a week.
Being physically able to play in sports leagues with 21 and up, and being able to still do aggressive inline and skateboarding rather than the treadmill or a stationary bike for the cardio aspect of my daily training
Having a child
Not having a need to flex anything, but being content with one’s own existence
Having the time and peace to take a nap.
Having a very good friend who just dropped out of my life coming back into the fold, adding a lost friend is very underrated.
Its like no time had been lost even though its been close to 10yrs
Not being on social media.
No back pain.
Finding the best discounts. I’m a huge fan of TJ Maxx.
At the gym, I’m listening to audiobooks instead of a hype playlist.
Being sober
“best and cheap” don’t go in the same sentence. If he’s that good he’d be in demand, if he’s cheap, he probably isn’t that good.
The ability to have plenty of quality alone time at home, while still being married.
No back pain lmao
Knowing basic maintenance or having basic repair skills of common things around your home and being able to do it successfully without the need for hiring an “expert”.
My toddler slept until 9 AM on Saturday.
Having a 100% two-way trusting relationship with my wife.
Filling up your tank
Being able to drive at night during rainy conditions and not worrying about your vision.
Having healthy joints as you age.
Having 3+ well-adjusted kids.
Going to the grocery store and just buying whatever you want without looking at prices.
I had a plumber that was so good a general contractor that was finishing my basement went downstairs and said “holy shit, who’s your plumber”. He retired.
Probably just bending at the hips and letting your arms hang. Any of them are good at this point; Mobility is so important.
Living a peaceful, debt free, healthy lifestyle – love my younger self for not getting into stupid situations while inexperienced.
Being able to proudly say that you never once voted for Trump. 77 million MFrs voted for the guy in 2024 but in 10-15 years, you won’t find people willing to admit it. That is why it is a flex now
Maxing out your credit card without paying any interest or fees.
Being happy, healthy, and most importantly having energy/zest for life. If you got that you have it made. You can have anything else but if you are a dead in the water it’s like ash in your mouth.
Retiring while you can climb a flight of stairs without any pain.
Living debt free, and having had a vasectomy (without having had any babies) is a true “flex”.
I laugh at people with no job, or who live paycheck-to-paycheck who go to the renaissance festival and spend $500 on a sword, buy an overpriced motorcycle, etc.
Things being paid off.
Trusting your spouse 100%.
Using all PTO and sick days.
Not owing. (Favors, IOUs, etc)
Not worrying about ‘flexing’
Relationship stability. A lot of my friends can absolutely land women but but it always fizzles out after a month or they barely get passed the first date. This was fine when we were 20, I’d even go so far as to say I was jealous of them for being more successful with women than I was at that same age.
But now in our 30s, it’s kind of flex to be in long-term stable relationship.
