I'm 19 I did my GCSEs back in 2022, the careers advisor in my secondary school would always advise students against taking non-conventional routes such as doing apprenticeships? I don't know why but most teachers during my secondary education seemed very determined on the fact that Degrees are everything. A-levels are everything. I agree to a certain extent because yes they are very important in STEM and Health-care, but not everyone wants the same outcome in their life. My school always looked down on apprenticeships which was so weird to me.

My career advisors in my college though were very different on this matter. They didn't believe that a degree was everything. Even my A-level chemistry teacher said A-levels are not everything because everyone's end goal is different. I don't know why my secondary school had such a toxic and adamant mind set on it.

I'm not too serious about it though neither am I full on bashing my secondary school but just expressing what I think.

EDIT- SORRY IGNORE THE 'and' IN THE TITLE
