In American English, if you were to read out a phone number, you would read it out as the individual digits, ex: 867-5309 is eight six seven five three zero nine.
I know that in Spanish, phone numbers are grouped, so the same number would be: 86 75 30 9 or maybe 86 75 309, read (in Spanish) as eighty six, seventy five, thirty nine/three hundred nine.
Are there any other ways of doing it? For example would someone say eight million six hundred seventy five thousand three hundred and nine?
Is this something that differs on the language level, country level, or by the family of language, i.e.: Germanic/Slavic/Romance?
