My success in social groups is mostly decent, but sometimes it absolutely sucks. I think it is because of my anxiety issues and lack of social intelligence. I am not a weirdo, but I just can't connect to people many times (especially during social events). I ask this, because it limits me in life, and most importantly, gives me stress and fear of being left behind. (Usually, I leave the social event or group, but it harms my social life and I need to deal with it.)

The best thing would be if I could fit anywhere I go, anytime. I don't have to become friends with them, I just want to feel like they accept me. (I stay consistent in attending social events, but sometimes it's just such a disaster that some theory behind this integration would be useful.)

If anyone has links to books, videos or lectures about fitting in socially, I’d really appreciate it.
