Every since I can remember (50 years old), there's been new adverts on TV every 6-18 months showing off the latest amazing new toothbrush (usually Oral B), with special technology and a fancy new REVOLUTIONARY brush that gets to bacteria and plaque that previous toothbrushes can only dream of. 6-18 months later, another new toothbrush is released by the same company, talking about how THIS new toothbrush is even more amazing-er than the previous amazing toothbrush, followed by a CGI render of yellow plaque and bacteria removal being useless with the previous amazing brush, but the new futuristic brush technology is so much better than the shit that came before.
Cue repeat ad nauseum.
With the rate of the purported improvements over the last 50 years, a single swipe of the toothbrush in 2026 should remove all bacteria, tartar, plaque, wash your car for you and add an extra 1/16th of inch to your penis / make you go up a cup size.
Does anyone work in toothbrush research (lol!) / design / marketing who can explain this phenomenon.
