Australian here. I was just wondering about this over dinner yesterday – do people in the US get paid more on a Saturday/Sunday compared to a normal working day? It is definitely a thing in Australia. I work at a supermarket and shift on a Saturday are paid at 125% of our regular hourly pay, and on a Sunday it 150% of your regular pay. So for example, if my hourly pay is 20, on a Saturday I'll be earning 25 an hour.
