What I mean is, I work for a massive company and I'm seeing people go for promotions. I've been hearing that some people knew which position they wanted. How do they know? How do I know where I want to go?
I just don't care for climbing a ladder. Should I? Do they? Do they actually know?
What I care about is being the best engineer that I can be. What I care about is building my confidence. But am I supposed to be looking far ahead into my career?
I'm 36 and still asking this question. If I could, I'd have my own company and not climbing a ladder. But I feel like you're supposed to? At least if you have a family
