Im at a loss, so want some male perspective.

This does not happen all the time, but frequently enough that I’m wondering what is going on. Sometimes guys will (in a nighttime going out scenario) refuse to make eye contact (im not trying to make eye contact btw, just obvious they are actively avoiding it – almost to an extreme – if you know what I mean) and will weirdly almost run away.

Last night is an example that comes to mind. I went out with some friends. My gf meets a guy she thinks is cute and hits it off with. She comes over to us with him for introductions, and this guys introduces himself to everyone but me. He actively turned away from me when my gf went to introduce us, looked down at his feet and just nodded his head. I stuck my hand out to shake his (because thats what he did with everyone else) and basically my gf had to force him to return the handshake, but he still didnt say a word and just looked at his feet. Then he dashed away and basically hid (not kidding). My gf was like wth to me later as if I did something.

This actually happens a lot! Not the same scenario but where one guy out of a room of people will just be weirdly running away from me and acting bizarre if forced to be in any shared area or conversation I am apart of. I can sense their vibe and its like they are scared. Its soooo strange.

On the other hand, I have the reverse problem with a lot of both girls and guys really trying to talk to get my attention, which can be a little annoying in a different way, but at least I do not feel like I am somehow offending them. Ive faced the awkward weird avoidance enough (only from men) to ask what would cause you as a man to act that way?
