As an English person currently learning to drive, driving in America actually fascinates me. It’s got me wondering about car insurance prices for new drivers in the US seeing as accident rates are higher there than in the UK. Do black boxes/telematics (policies that track how you drive) exist at all? Is insurance higher/lower for new drivers than it is in the UK? (Average is roughly £2000 per year for a 17 year old newly passed driver in the UK, which is about $2600, although it car be much higher or lower depending on the car and whether you get a black box or not.)
Is it most common to pay monthly or yearly for insurance?
