The recent passing of my gran got me thinking, she had lived in her house almost 55 years – since 1971. The scheme was built about 1968, and apart from her there are about 2 or 3 other neighbours that have been here since roughly the start.
She grew up in one house, so in all her life she lived in two different houses, both in the same village like 500 yards from eachother. My papa had her beat with an astounding 3.
I'm realising it's the same with most people in the village. They'll be here all their lives and move maybe 2 or 3 times. I'm 16 and so far I haven't moved at all and have no plans to. An old boy in the village died not long ago and he'd lived in the same house for a good 80 years, never bought it off the council.
