A close friend of mine unfortunately isn’t in the best position currently. Without going into detail, his life really hasn’t gone to plan and he’s now 46 without a career, house, savings or anything material to show for his life really.
He does have a lovely partner and wants to get married and have children with her, but he worries it’s too late to try to ‘start’ his life now.
Given his age, he feels he may have missed his opportunity to build a life and start a family.
I know people say it’s ’never too late’ to start again, but I wonder if it’s realistically possible to build a life from almost nothing in your late 40s..
Do you think it actually is possible to create a stable life from that point? Career, home, family etc. Or has he realistically missed the boat?
Would be interested to hear different perspectives and if anyone has any personal experiences of starting over later in life.
