I’m not saying they are wrong or even bad, just… performative in a sense which seems obvious I guess.

It sometimes feels like dating rewards the people who are best at presenting themselves, not necessarily the people who feel the most authentic.

Confidence becomes branding.

Charm becomes a skill set.

Flirting becomes a social language.

Meanwhile the people who lead with sincerity, curiosity, or quietness can feel like they’re speaking a completely different dialect.

Anyone else ever feel like they’re watching the dating world from backstage instead of on stage?
