Im not sure I heard this correctly, as I thought I knew my North American geography, but an episode of one of the Dick Wolf tv shows, Chicago something, described Chicago as being in the Mid West.
Looking at the map, its neither in the middle, nor west on the NA continent.
Did I mishear, or am I looking at this with the wrong perspective?
