Hello everyone. I currently work an office job and like one of my coworkers that works in another department. I never really talked to her but I've always seen her in passing. I didn't start talking to her until she started making comments like "hey I really like your pants" and one time she said she "really liked my sleeve".
I did ask her out to lunch on a Friday back in December. to preface this, we work half days on Fridays and I hit her up with the question and she said yes. We had lunch and talked about random stuff about work and life and she hugged me before we left.
I also got her a Christmas gift where I left it at her desk. She actually went to my floor and opened it up with me and hugged afterwards.
She always says hi to me if we run into each other or in passing.
Now present, it was her birthday recently and I want to ask her out for dinner or to do something over the weekend. I just asked her on teams if she was doing anything for her birthday and she is going to be out of town unfortunately but I then asked if she was doing anything for lunar new year. I intend to ask if she wants to go to a lunar new year festival with me. I fear a rejection is coming though but I haven't actually hit her with the question yet.
so I asked her on teams before I left the office if she was doing anything for lunar new year, hasn't responded yet. I fear she's going to say she's busy or no if I ask her out to the event next week.
TLDR: I like my coworker, have went out with her before, hugged, and got her Christmas gifts. I fear shell reject me if I ask her out again.
