As in how many dates till you’d make it official? Long and the short of it; I’m 26m, I’ve been going out with someone [26f] since mid-December, although only 4 official dates so far (date 4 was Sunday, we hung out Monday and Tuesday but I don’t count those as official ‘dates’ if that makes sense, Monday I drug her around several hardware stores looking for a new propane tank regulator, Tuesday we napped on the couch with her cat). Date 5 is Saturday night, and I’d like to know if that’s an appropriate date/amount of time to officially ask what we’re calling ourselves. Dilemma is I’ve been traveling a bunch recently for work and vacation so even though I’ve technically been seeing her since mid December I’ve been out about 3-4 weeks of that time, and I’m not sure if that makes it too soon to label it.
Personally, I’m crazy about this girl, I thought the whole butterflies in the stomach thing stopped after like high-school/early college, but nope, they appear to be back in force. My concern is mostly I don’t want to move too fast for her or freak her out, as far as I go; I’m smitten, over the moon, would’ve asked earlier frankly. Funny part is I’m generally far more avoidant and have generally not been the one to ask for commitment in the past, but I can’t stop thinking about her. Any advice is appreciated. Apologies if the second half reads more as a ramble, needed to get some of that off my chest and figured no better place.
