No, the chances they rejected you for liking an obscure band, pouring hot sauce on potato chips, or doing Pilates is ultra tiny. People will just say that and lie to avoid hurting your feelings.
If someone they DID like had those traits/quirks, they’d likely be all over it and see it as a good thing. Obviously exceptions like lifestyle, religion, and politics will be common for rejection and breakups. But you gotta understand that’s different than getting dumped for just liking pickup trucks or something so innocuous.
Don’t change your hobbies, beliefs, likes, or dislikes to gain an edge in dating. It won’t do jack shit for your dating life and will ultimately make you miserable. It’s pointless people pleasing behavior which is universally disliked.
I know it sounds cliche and a little annoying but find someone who celebrates those things about you. They don’t have to like everything, but they have to accept it is important to you. And they will if they like you romantically.
