I know Americans treat pets as family members, but I'm still curious: after a pet passes away, do you still have certain ways to remember them? Also, how long do they stay in your memory? A year? Two years?

p.s.I'm aware of this issue, and I understand that it might be difficult to get accurate and comprehensive information through an investigation here, because I just looked into the issue of pet abuse in the United States, and I found the extent of the abuse quite shocking. Therefore, I'm very curious about Americans' true attitudes towards pets.
