I’m a Grade 12 student in Canada, originally from Bangladesh. I speak English fluently and normally have no issues with pronunciation or confidence. However, when speaking to my female English teacher who I find pretty, I start fumbling words and my native accent becomes much stronger. This doesn’t happen with classmates or other teachers. It feels like pressure or nervousness rather than a language issue. I’m aware of what I want to say, but my delivery breaks down in the moment. How can this be managed or reduced?
