My gf (22F) Is planning on going on two girls trips this summer to party islands for the “experience”. one of which with work colleagues she barely knows.I have given my opinion that this feels a little weird to me as I know the reasons that people go to those places, to get drunk and sleep around. I would have no issue with her going anywhere else (Italy, Spain) but I feel quite taken aback by this. I told her if she really wants to go to Ibiza we could go but she said nobody goes there as a couple and it’s weird to do that, so she needs to go with her two colleagues.
She is telling me I am very controlling and I cannot stop her living her life. I never said she could not go, just that it felt off to me and I wouldn’t do it if the roles were reversed. I am not trying to project my own values onto this but I feel like it’s a fair concern to have.
TL;DR: GF wants to go on girls trips to party islands for “experience”, makes me feel insane for feeling weird about it.
Am I insane?
