Back in December 2024, I (29m) briefly dated this girl (35f) who had recently moved from several states away. She ended things with me after a couple dates. From time to time I run into her at the same bar and venues, but we don’t speak to each other. Fast forward to January 2026 – last Friday, I ran into her at the bar once again, but we still didn’t talk to each other. On Sunday, I got a notification that her mother, whom I never met and lives several states away, accidentally “liked” my Instagram post from a few months ago.
Today, I looked at my Instagram story views and I saw that her mother viewed my story – even though me and the mother don’t follow each other and I also don’t follow my ex. The mother also lives several states away at the same place my ex grew up. Why would my ex’s mother accidentally like my Instagram post and view my story? That is bizarre and would like answers.
