My partner and I are getting married in a few months and after living in London we have had our fair share of frustrations with the NHS, whether it's in A&E or with GP appointments or getting referrals.
I'm looking at getting us health insurance but was surprised to see that pregnancy and childbirth isn't something that's usually covered and it's obviously something we'll eventually be considering. I just thought I'd post to see people's experiences with having a baby recently under both the NHS as well as privately. Our godson was recently born in Glasgow and the experience was apparently quite 50/50. Midwives were great but the Doctors were so and so, with some appointments a lot later than usual, I assume due to understaffing and demand.
