Me and my partner just moved into a 1 bed flat and received our first bill showing £95 over 15 days…. And our current usage is showing around £20 every 3 days. This seems excessively high for a flat with 2 people in it who also weren’t here much over the Christmas period.
For reference this flat is electric only with storage heaters and an immersion heater which are both only switched to run on the off peak power supply. We use the storage heaters maybe once every two days and only use one to heat the whole flat. The water heater is left on the off peak switch (however doesn’t give hot water to the sinks but that’s a separate issue)
We do watch the TV a lot and will occasionally plug in an oil filled heater for an hour or two but these costings still seem very excessive.
Does anyone have any advice or previous experiences as to what may be causing our bill to be so high?
