I've purchased The Curry Guys' book and step one is to batch cook a big pot of base sauce (gravy). This got me thinking that my favourite curry place will obviously have their own gravy and it's obviously excellent (because their dishes are).
Before I put on my big boy pants and, potentially, make a fool of myself has anyone else ever approached their local curry place to see if they would sell tubs of their base gravy for use at home?
