I have a friend who is very adamant that anyone in the UK, regardless of earning potential, is able to buy property, save, and invest, if they apply themselves. I dared him to make a budget for 4 people in a city, which he did, but I still think it sounds fairly unrealistic with £200 for childcare and £885 for rent.
However, I also haven't ever lived in the UK, so I might be wrong.
