My F21 boyfriend M23 have been dating for almost 2 months now but we talked for 3 months beforehand. Early in our relationship I playfully asked him what his type was. He immediately says goth/emo and asian women. I am neither of these things and far from it. Then he mentions how he doesn't like blondes. (I wear wigs daily and was in a blonde wig stage in this moment).this was back in September. I was very hurt by this but it was our 4th or 5th date and I was still single so I brushed it off.
I've looked through his following on social media apps like ig and tiktok and it's full of goth and alt women. He has also told me I would look good with piercings and how he likes dark haired women. He's also mentioned he likes girls with tattoos. Keep in mind I have no tattoos or piercings. My hair is also dark now, I switched wigs and I could feel it that he liked me more after making that switch. It makes me incredibly insecure and worthless that I'm not his type and it's very obvious.
I expressed that this thing bothered me when we officially got into a relationship in November. He saw nothing wrong with his statements until I expressed I had an issue with it. He tried to tell me that I am his type and that he didn't mean his answer in the past and how im wrong and he's right and I shouldn't be insecure because he is a loving caring boyfriend who does nice things for me which is true but it still pains me. His exes are also dark haired, piercing having and much thinner than I am. I'm losing my mind and I have no way of coping with this.
TL;DR – my F21 boyfriend's M23 type is alt and asian women and I am the opposite of that.
