Before we met, I told my boyfriend that I love traveling and that I want to travel at least one country per year. He said he doesn’t like traveling, but he was okay if I traveled alone or with friends.

About a year into our relationship, I planned a trip with a friend. He got angry that I wasn’t traveling with him, so I cancelled that trip and planned one with him instead.

Later, I told him I still needed to travel with my friend because I had already promised her. He said I shouldn’t travel at all and that I would be wasting money and my leave days.

We both have about 5–6 weeks of leave each year. He says we should use all of it to get married and plan a wedding. He believes traveling is a waste of money and time off.

I don’t want to end up resenting him, but I can already feel it happening. I do want to marry him, but I don’t understand the rush or why he gets angry when I travel alone or with friends

Have any of you been in this situation or any advice?

TL;DR: I was clear early on that traveling is important to me. My boyfriend said he was fine with it, but now he wants me to cancel my travel plans so we can get married. He gets angry whenever I travel without him.
