I’m trying to hard to find an actual career for myself and I feel like I’m constantly failing to do so.
I don’t want the moon. My wage now is £33k. I want my own house and pay my bills alone and to buy a dog. So I’m going to need to work from home 2-3 days a week to achieve this. I also don’t want to physically ruin myself. Nor do I want a job so stressful i have a metal breakdown. A good work life balance is important.
In my head I’d love a base salary of 45k. I’m 30 now and I’d like to achieve that within 3-5 years from now. And then I’d like to be able to increase my earnings from that wether it be with additional certifications, overtime or just time in post.
Also because of my age I don’t want to do a 6 year apprenticeship. I’m happy to go to college, do a masters, or any 2/3 year course to give myself good employment prospects, thanks.
