Groceries and Household spend- what's yours?

We are a family of two full time working adults, two kids 10 & 12 and a small dog. My wife manages the food and household spend. Typically we spend around 1000pm for groceries and household cleaning items and personal items such as soaps, shampoos etc. But we struggle to keep within £1000.

We don't have much waste, not many ready meals etc. No alcohol. But we would buy better quality cuts of meats, sausages etc, but not in massive quantities. Lots of fresh fruit and veg. General groceries come from either Tesco or Lidl.

I could start going through each receipt and trying to scrutinize things, but wanted to see how far off we really are compared to general population.
