My boyfriend (21M) and I (25F) have been newly dating for about a few months and since the start, I have always almost never heard from him on the phone ever. When we do text, it takes over a few hours or day to reply and when we don’t text we will not speak for days.
When we’re together things are usually really good and we enjoy each others time and company, however when he goes back home we almost never talk or call and I am usually the one who texts him first 95% of the time, he does initiate plans and when we would have time but it really is starting to make me feel like maybe he doesn’t entirely have interest in me. He has been open to me that he does have his phone notifications off and even doesn’t have them on except if it’s his mom or siblings, but other than that has around over 70+ unanswered text messages and isn’t very much on his social media in general.
I do want to bring it up to him however I am scared of what could happen like him thinking I’m being overreactive, etc. my entire dating life has only been LDR and the last time I had almost a boyfriend, he completely ghosted me, so this kinda hits a bit too close to home and I’m trying to be considerate of his time and space.
How do I manage the feeling of being insecure about his lack of texting, and is it a red flag that we don’t text eachother?
