I’m from Australia, and it is easy enough to get around without a car, with many apartment buildings extremely close to a train station or tram stop. Obviously London is very well connected with the Tube and bus network, but what is it like in other major cities? Is it easy enough for a young woman to get around without issue? It’s very common in Australia for people to live in the city central, and apartment prices aren’t insanely inflated there compared to other suburbs. Looking online, it seems a lot of advertised flats are in outer suburbs that might be harder to get to safely without a car. Any Brits who don‘t drive able to weigh in?
