Working in retail part-time as a student, but got put on the Boxing Day shift, unfortunately. Asked weeks ago to move it, but to no avail, so my only option is to take a £90 coach at 3 am on Boxing Day to make it back for a 4-hour shift. Currently planning to call in sick just because i dont wanna pay that, however, my contract is set to be renewed in a week's time. What are the chances they will decide not extend my contract after I call in sick? They will for sure know I'm lying when I call in, but i wouldnt think they are that petty to revoke my contract extension.
