I (31 M) moved for my wife (30 F). So because of that, we agreed I get first dibs on holidays back at my home. Usually she gets Thanksgiving and I get Christmas because our respective families go all out. The rest are toss up depending on what each family is doing.
My wife’s dad unfortunately got cancer, so I let her have all the holidays this year and next because it’s not looking good. I’ve been fine for all the holidays but Christmas today without my family made really sad for some reason.
I was sent a bunch of videos and I became a little sad cause since I’ve never missed a Christmas with my parents, siblings, and nephews/nieces. My family has been very understanding given the circumstances. They know I should be here.
Anyone deal with anything similar? I’m so happy for my wife to have this time with her family. She was so happy today. But I miss family since I never see them on a day to day.
