I believe this is the correct place to put this? But I (F22) have been having problems with my bf’s brother for a while now. There has been continued disrespect for the past two years from the brother (M26), and it’s been driving me insane. This year I’ve officially given up and have decided that there would either be respect or I would be done. He has thrown my clothes on the ground, insulted me, back handedly called me stupid, made me feel like a failure because I had to withdraw from school, leaves the bathroom a mess in the most disgusting ways, and has continuously come into the room while I am trying to sleep.
He recently apologized for his actions, but said me confronting him with all of my issues was just drama, when all I want is some type of respect. I just want my BF to stand up for me when his brother is rude, and he needs to do the same for his GF.
But my main question is it valid for me to either want to break up or move out of my bf’s house because his brother comes up often, about 3-4 times a year and about 1-2 weeks in duration?
Also I should say they both have ownership over the house so I will not force them to stay somewhere else and it would be me to leave since it is not my say in what happens to the house.
