So, a few days before Christmas I had a random £2,800 deposited into my bank account. I contacted my bank and asides from it being a GIRO payment and having an ambiguous 'payments account' as a reference, there's no other information as to where this money has come from.
I've put it into a savings account for now, and figured if I'm not chased for it by this time next year then it's unlikely I'll ever be chased for it (here's hoping?) Maybe it's a reimbursement for an old debt that's been overpaid or something – I used to have a lot of debt and have moved around a fair bit over the years, so perhaps a letters been sent to an old address that I don't know about.
Anyways – come December 2026, if you had £2.8k to blow, how would you spend it?
Having spent most of my life poor I struggle with the concept of buying myself things that aren't basic essentials. Any suggestions on good local charities/causes to donate to would be welcomed as well!
