What’s a show you loved but then stopped watching? Why did you stop?
December 29, 2025
Can be whether you just lost interest, or started to hate it, or some other reason.

Stranger Things. It just took too long. I know the final season is out now but I just can’t motivate myself to watch it. The investment died years ago while waiting.
Grey’s Anatomy. It just went on and on and on and is still going on and on and on. I was tired of going in circles without any or most of the original cast, so I just stopped watching much like almost everyone I know who is a fan of this show.
I loved early seasons of Supernatural when it came out on tv, but it went on too long and lost the plot. Game of Thrones, I read books before watching show and when it started to fall deeper into to brainrot content I stopped, I have not even seen the last season.
The Good Place. Loved season 1 & 2 but I barely managed to finish the first episode of season 3, for a very dumb reason. The Australian accents were so unbelievably bad and as an Aussie I couldn’t get past it.
I have heard the series finale is amazing so maybe one day I’ll revisit it.
Last of Us S2.
I didn’t bother coming back after THAT death.
It was already spoiled for me years ago after the game came out so I knew it was coming. But I didn’t feel connected to the remaining main characters personally.
At the time I found an older binge able show so it got replaced quickly.
Stranger things. FIrst season was great; second season was…. meh. Stopped watching after the 2nd or 3rd episode.
the walking dead. It was one of those shows that would have boringass episodes and when you were on the brink of quitting, they’d reel you back in with an awesome one. Got tired of that after the 3rd season.
the last of us. First season was SO GOOD then I heard some things about 2nd season that made me not want to watch it. IYKY 😩
One Piece. I wanted to wait for it to finish so that I can binge it. I’m still waiting.
The Walking Dead
Chopped
The judges be playing games, chopping people for stupid reasons
Being Human (UK). Total cast change after the 3rd season. I watched a couple episodes, realized I had ZERO investment in these characters, and besides how did the ghost move out of the house she was haunting?
Wolfblood, same deal except the cast change happened after the second season.
It’s a mildly infuriating quirk of British tv shows, they either go on FOREVER (Dr Who, Call the Midwife*, Midsomer Murders), are only a few episodes long (Sherlock), or start dropping and replacing the main cast after the first couple seasons (Call the Midwife gets another callout here, but it sort of makes sense in the show’s context).
This is Us, after a while the whole Kate story was so annoying and the fact that she couldn’t let anyone else be happy did it for me. Dexter, stopped watching because honestly the sister was so annoying. Walking Dead just dragged on and on. Stranger Things, too long between the past season and new one, lost interest. A lot of the shows I watched I stopped because of these two to three year breaks between seasons.
Sex & the City, specifically the subsequent movies and spinoff And Just Like That. I wrote my Master’s Thesis on this series, but I hate what the characters ultimately became and how their relationships have aged poorly on rewatches.
This Is Us
It just got to a point I wasn’t feeling the emotional investment anymore. However, I will die on the hill that Mandy Moore deserved an Emmy for the episode where they show how Jack died.
The Blacklist. I love James Spader. He’s amazing. But Liz got on my nerves and I quit watching after season 3 – twice.
Witcher
Watched for Henry Cavill’s performance despite the awful writing. Now he’s gone, writing is still bad (people say it’s more faithful to the book, but that doesn’t make it well-written – like the pacing, the order of scenes, the dialogue etc, it’s pretty bad).
Walking Dead. It went on and on..
Lost. After one of my favorite characters died, I checked out.
Game of Thrones. First three seasons were very good. Fourth season things were shaky but still alright. I think I got halfway through the fifth season and I was like yeah I’m done.
this may not count since it was 1 season but…Wednesday. I LOVED the first season, had NO interest in the second season, I think the marketing fell flat for me and so I just wasn’t excited. Then I heard it wasn’t great so why bother?
Suits, there was a scene that really break my heart in a way and I couldn’t really keep up without me falling apart
