I recently moved to a small city in the south coming from a super dense area in the northeast and I was expecting it to be completely dead… it has been the opposite. Stores here are PACKED, shopping around Christmas was crazy, and Black Friday seems to be alive and well here (people camping out and stuff). Up north most people shop online, stores are relatively quiet, especially later in the night. I’m only 18, but it feels like I’m living back in my childhood. My parents have been constantly talking about how it reminds them of the 90s here.

Just curious, is this like a thing? I’m not complaining personally, I love seeing people out and about, and ik the south is a little behind with some stuff, but this is a specific thing I noticed.
