I purchased a house a few months ago by working 2 jobs for 19months. Quit my 2nd (part time) job a few weeks ago and money is tighter (no room for holidays or too much fun stuff).
Was thinking of renting out my spare room to international students for the extra money and I suppose the experience of living with other people since I’ve always lived at home. I was wondering what are peoples experiences with this?
I was thinking of only renting out the room(s) for half of the year and having the other half to myself (since I’ve enjoyed these last few months of complete freedom).
Did having an additional person(s) drastically increase your bills? Hoping to get someone in, in Feb so shouldn’t have too much of an additional heating expense for too long before it gets warmer? Did you wish that people ended up staying longer for the financial security? Interested in everything and anything going through your minds before I commit to this. Thank you
