I, 19f, am currently in a long-distance relationship with my boyfriend. We are mutually exclusive and have sex about once a month. I’ve been getting BV after every time we’ve had sex for about 5 months now. I’ve heard that, in such situations, it’s possible that the male partner is carrying the bacteria causing BV and reinfecting the female. Is this real? I don’t want to sound stupid asking my physician about it if it’s some kind of weird internet conspiracy lol. If it is, do I just request double antibiotics? Does he need to get tested? Can he even get tested? Help.
